I’ve been a fan of eco-friendly brand Reformation for quite some time. I think their modern take on classic silhouettes and tongue-in-cheek marketing bring a much needed coolness to sustainable fashion. However, I’ve been hesitant to pull the trigger on a purchase due to issues with fit and availability (many of the garments are made of deadstock fabric so they sell out fast).
I fell in love with the Cece dress in this orchid print when I saw it hanging at their store on Melrose, so I was truly delighted when it fit me so well. The fabric is 100% viscose, which is a natural textile that is completely biodegradable. Checking fiber content is key to conscious consuming. Petroleum based synthetic fabrics, such as polyester, can take 200 years to decompose. Go for natural textiles whenever possible.
I paired with simple flats and dainty gold jewelry for a day of shopping in Venice.
