I’ve featured many sustainable clothing brands on Green with Style, but any mention of jewelry makers has been purposefully omitted for one simple reason: I couldn’t find any that I liked! When it comes to necklaces, bracelets and earrings, I prefer them to be somewhat dainty, timeless and to complement my outfit rather than steal the spotlight. Eco or ethical jewelry tends to have much bolder designs that are just not my style.
So you can imagine my delight when 31 Bits contacted me to help promote their modern and polished, socially conscious jewelry. This ethical e-tailer works with fairly paid artisans (they make more than double than what they would elsewhere) in Indonesia that use traditional brass-work methods to create thoughtfully designed pieces. Although the jewelry looks quite contemporary, it’s technically handmade, meaning that you’re avoiding factory pollution and excessive energy consumption.
One of my favorite pieces from the collection is the Floating Pendant Duo (worn here), because it gives the illusion of wearing multiple necklaces and complements both a deep v-neck top and crew-neck tee perfectly. I also love the Triple Dot Studs (also worn here) because they’re minimal enough to wear every day, but have a unique design. The bracelet I’m wearing is part of 31 Bits’ 10-year anniversary. The charm says “Choose Joy”, in honor of many of their artisans who have decided to live joyfully despite tremendous hardship.
Some items in this post were gifted, but all reviews and opinions are my own.
