The trend life-cycles of fashion can actually be used to your advantage when pursuing a green lifestyle. Fashion designers often draw inspiration from past eras, which result in a second life for many past styles and trends. When I saw this khaki dress in a vintage shop in Echo Park, it immediately reminded me of the utilitarian, lightweight jacket trend that I’ve been noticing recently. By wearing it unbuttoned over a LWD, the dress became a jacket.  As I mention in my How to Shop Sustainably post, buying vintage is the best way to shop sustainably since no additional energy or resources were needed to create it. Remember, vintage never goes out of style!
