I love when a major trend is inherently eco-friendly, and I like to think that it’s a small sign that the world is starting to make shift to more responsible habits. Trends do emerge from the street just as they do from the runways. Either way, vintage Levi’s is definitely the denim of the year.
Lucky for me, I’ve had this pair for years. When I studied abroad in Paris during college, I lived in the 3rd arrondissement or Le Marais, which is well known for its amazing vintage stores and ridiculously stylish people. I remember finding this perfectly worn-in pair at a small shop that had vintage Chanel bags stacked from floor to ceiling (I know). At the time I styled them with black tights and ballet flats in my best attempt at effortlessly chic French style.
For last weekend’s trip to Santa Barbara, I wore them with a nautical inspired crop top for a gloomy beach walk with Havie Bear. Since I usually live in denim cutoffs during the summer, I know that these shorts will be getting a long overdue second life. Moral of the story? Never throw out anything that you love and fits you well!
