Since switching to a sustainable lifestyle, I pay close to attention to style trends that I can buy secondhand, can wear both to the office and out on weekends, and are basic enough to stand the test of time – and the long blazer checks all three boxes. Unlike its classic, short counterpart, the blazer has been made fresh by an elongated shape and long lapels, and looks just as fabulous paired with smart trousers as it does distressed vintage denim.
The best part is that this style was also popular in the 80’s and early 00’s (remember long blazers + bodycon dresses), so thrift and consignment stores are filled with them! No need to buy a “vintage-inspired” version when you can save an amazing jacket from ending up in a landfill, and avoid the energy and resources used to create a fast-fashion copy.
I rounded up some alternatives from Etsy, Poshmark and ThredUp below. Click through to shop!
